What is Karuna ?

The word Karuna is often used by reiki practitioners, having a far broader meaning than people might think. According to Buddhist and Hindu writings, the word “Karuna” means ” the action of compassion and love”. This Sanskrit word also means “being ONE” with God and with the universe. Thus, “Karuna” is what leads people to be compassionated, specially toward those in need. And according to Buddhist teachings, Karuna and “Parjana”, should always walk together e.g. compassion and wisdom. Likewise, “Karuna” is a characteristic of enlightened people, who came to earth to help humans releasing suffering and pain by means of energetic healing. And when reiki healers evolve in their work, their capacity to generate “Karuna” becomes increasingly higher with time (this results from the fact, that healers become more receptive to God’s energy and love).
