What is the application process?
All complete applications are reviewed by the MSc in Public Health Research Committee depending on the time of year this may take 2-4 weeks. The application is then approved conditionally or unconditionally or rejected. Any decision is clearly outlined by the College Office who will reply to you. If you receive an offer, you will be required to sign it and return it to the College Office as acceptance of your place on the MSc programme. A deposit is now required by all applicants, details will be outlined in your offer. In August you will be sent an Introductory Pack from the College Office. Programme Handbooks are available on this website to review prior to arrival. Please note the University will be introducing a new on line application system that will enable students to track their application progress. Details on system start dates will be available at www.ed.ac.uk, however, it is currently planned for 2009/10 enrollement.
(1) AugustSeptember: Obtain a new application from www.embjapan.org or your nearest Consulate General of Japan (see below); (2) Early December: Application deadline; (3) Late January: Results of written application; (4) February: Interview; (5) Late March-early April: Results of interview; (6) May-June: Collection of additional documents and placement in Japan; (7) July-August: Departure for Japan.
Students who wish to apply to the five-year dual AB/BFA program must submit a separate application to RISD and to Brown, and also apply to the program. Each admission office will conduct a separate evaluation before joint consideration for the Dual Degree Program. A student may be admitted to RISD only or to Brown only. Because the pioneer class will be small, it is possible that a student will be admitted to both Brown and to RISD, but not to the Dual Degree Program.
All applications must be submitted to the University of Houston Human Resource Department with a Posting Number for a current job opening. These applications are then reviewed by a hiring committee composed of UHCCC managers, teachers and assistant teachers. Phone interviews are scheduled for selected applicants. Final applicants are asked to come to the Center for interviews and to teach a classroom lesson.
