Where is the Best Steak in Los Angeles, California?

My friends and I were going to a show at the El Portal Theater and wanted a place to dine before the show.We decided on Eclectic because we could walk to the theater after dinner. We ended up having the BEST time. It is sort of an artsy, jazzy wine bar with a GREAT VIBE!. The place seemed very “New York-y” Our server was really nice. The food was really good. I had the Calamari -which was more of a calamari steak that was pan fried…not the usual deep fried rings you get at other places- it was tender and very nicely prepared. for my entree, I had the Mahi-Mahi. It was came with a white wine caper sauce. It tasted really fresh. The best part, was the wine flight. They had several, I chose the Latitia flight. It was fun to get to taste several different wines from the same winery. I thought their wine selection was really good, not your run of the mill wines. We didn’t have dessert on this visit. This was our first time here and my friends and I so excited we found a ne

I cannot explain how excited I am to live in a city where you can get a perfectly aged and cooked steak 24 hours a day. PLUS if you eat there they have a free shuttle to all the Downtown entertainment venues, pick up and drop off. And its a good place for star sightings.Donald Sutherland sighting aside, I do want to balance my review with both pros and cons. Its a steakhouse. Its old school. You don’t get hurried out in favor of seating another party. Granted its not usually packed. I never found the wait staff absent or non-attentive, just discreet and unobtruscive. It’s one of those places where they seat you, take your order, ask if you need anything else, bring that if it applies, and leave you alone with your date, family, business partner, etc. If you should need service, it isn’t hard to flag down someone who can get your waiter to you, or a busboy to refill your water. Its pricey. Don’t expect to come here and spend less than $50 a person. its a steakhouse. Its a g

I recently took my parents here and found the food to be good, not great. It wasn’t disappointing but, nothing I would rave about. The service however, was great. My parents aren’t accustomed to these type of restaurants (language barrier) and feel very uncomfortable being there but, our waitress did a great job to make them feel at ease and not out of place. I really appreciated the friendly, casual service they had, unlike some snooty places I’ve been to. I’ve had waiters smirk or act irritated at my parent’s inability to figure out the multi course menus. Definitely going back for the food but, more for the service.Pros + Great service and great part of townCons – If you go during the day, takes time for your eyes to adjust to the sudden darkness inside. ^^

I went to Nobu for the first time last week, and was kind of disappointed. I’m a big sushi fan, and thought that the fish was not that fresh. The waiters took their time refilling glasses, and weren’t that helpful or courteous. The look of the restaurant is nice, though, and thought that it was a pleasant setting for a meal, if only the meal had been a little better.Pros + great decorationsCons – fish wasn’t that fresh, wish the waiters had been more attentive

I had out-of-town guests in for the week and of course they want to experience L.A. Given this place has been in the exact same spot for 85 years I thought it would be a good choice – and it turn out to be correct. Three people ordered the Fish ‘n Chips with the peanut cole slaw and said it was “perfect”. When the manager found out that we were “first timers” to the restaurant he came over to welcome us… a nice touch. Other than the good service and good food (which wasn’t over priced) I love that even though the restraurant was packed it wasn’t noisey.
