Why does Compandents EVRC-WB sound better than the standard reference?
A. Compandent has been working on the EVRC-WB package for several years now. We have extensively tested our EVRC-WB suite (a.k.a EVRC-WB++ or EVRC-WB-Plus-Plus) in many different environments and with a variety of speech data. We can show you examples where the standard reference produces hoarse speech or annoying clicks while Compandent’s EVRC-WB (EVRC-WB++) produces much better sounding and cleaner speech. We thoroughly investigated any sign of a problem or bug and didn’t give up until we resolved it in the best possible way, in order to make sure that our customers get the best sounding implementation!
